Putting into operation
Initial operation
To put into operation a PC that has been recently installed by the ZIM, it must be connected to the network of the university when operated for the first time, since a few configuration steps must still be performed. Please connect your device with a network cable. A Wi-Fi connection or external network access are not sufficient!
Software equipment
Basic equipment & software distribution
You will receive basic equipment from us. We can offer you helpful programmes through our software distribution. You can also install software on your device yourself.

Activating Windows & Office
To activate Windows and Office products, the devices must be connected to the activation server at least every 150 days. To that end, connect the device with the university network or build a VPN connection.
If the device is also operated outside the university, please check to make sure all required programs will function without a network connection.
